The WSLCB seeks Analyst Activist for the Washington State Cannabis Industry Advisory Board in Olympia (part-time, contract)

DUTIES:

Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of cannabis legislative goals.

Responsible for implementing legislative grassroots action plans including email, phone and earned media campaigns.

Work with other staff, affiliates, other labor unions, and coalition partners to develop campaign plans and strategies.

Attend WSLCB meetings and advocate/speak on behalf. Attend legislative committee meetings and speak on behalf.

Execute campaign plans and programs in assigned area.

Develop and maintain relationships with leadership, elected officials and key staff.

Build, train and maintain network of political activists and PEOPLE contributors.

Assess political climate, candidates and campaigns and prepare reports on potential opportunities and challenges.

REQUIREMENTS:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and 1-3 years of related work experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience with provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities: knowledge of unions and their political programs; knowledge of the political and legislative process; familiar with online voter database; knowledge of organizing and campaign activities; possesses leadership and motivational skills and exhibits good oral and written communications skills.

Valid automobile driver’s license, variable work schedules and temporary assignments are necessary.

Selected applicants will be responsible for locating to assigned area.

**This is a temporary, at-will assignment with a projected duration of up to 24 months.**
