What We Look For In a Staff Accountant

Here Are Some Of Your Day-to-day Responsibilities

The Staff Accountant will be a significant contributor to the growing Leafly Accounting and Finance team.

Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will assist in processing revenue and expense transactions, recording journal entries in NetSuite, performing account reconciliations as part of month-end close, and assisting in other accounting projects.

The ideal candidate will have an insatiable intellectual curiosity, speak fluently in debits and credits, be willing to roll up their sleeves and do the detail work while also maintaining a bigger picture view, and work well independently and as a member of the team.

  • Own the accounts payable function for Leafly and subsidiaries, leveraging tools to streamline processing and payments
  • Own reconciliation and recording of credit card transactions, ensure proper supporting documents are obtained, and review charges for validity
  • Review and process employee expenses reports
  • Assist in the month-end close process including preparation of account and bank reconciliations
  • Assist in recording prepayments and fixed assets
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA (or pursuing) preferred
  • 1 to 3 years progressive accounting experience in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Understanding of US GAAP and relevant tax issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a rapidly changing environment
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel preferred
  • Netsuite experience preferred
  • Previous experience working in a mid to large-sized company
