Solstice seeks Facilities Manager in Seattle

At Solstice, the Facilities Manager is responsible for coordinating with the Director of Operations to build, manage, and execute a comprehensive facilities maintenance list in connection with budgetary constraints.

This position asks for a consistently positive, friendly, and assertive manner with partners, regulators, leadership, and the Solstice team. Facilities Manager Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Manage and meet specific project timelines
  • Manage and execute general construction projects at direction of Director of Operations or other leadership, acting as point for 3rd parties
  • Manage and execute general maintenance to ensure facility is functional and operational, including, but not limited to:
  • Filter maintenance
  • Waste management
  • Repairs and maintenance in connection with weekly/bi-weekly turnarounds in grow rooms
  • Alarm and security
  • Preventative maintenance around the facility
  • Assist in the general development of construction and maintenance projects
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of new facilities
  • Ship, receive, and the organize facility and department specific supplies and equipment
  • Work with the Director of Operations to determine specific department needs to execute daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly maintenance activities
  • Maintain building sites in accordance with relevant regulations and safety codes
  • Maintain general facility aesthetics and function including internal and external walls hallways, restrooms, and performing minor plumbing and electrical repair as needed
  • Maintain clean and tidy curb appeal around the exterior of the facility, including painting, washing, cleaning, grounds keeping, and any general tidying activities.
  • Keep the facility clean during all projects and daily operations (including ensuring all 3rd parties servicing facility)
  • Supervise any facilities/maintenance staff

Compliance Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Health Emergency/Injury
  • Active Shooter
  • Washington State Liquor Cannabis Board (WSLCB)
  • Work with DOO and other leadership to ensure Solstice in compliance with LCB
  • Ensure proper licenses procured/renewed and in place/posted clearly
  • City/State

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 2+ years related experience
  • 2+ years in food processing, agriculture, or cannabis preferred
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Knowledge of cannabis and current market conditions in Washington.
  • Construction Know How and Experience
  • Framing/rough woodworking capabilities
  • Simple plumbing capabilities
  • Simple electrical capabilities
  • Ability to work weekends & have flexible schedule
  • Experience with power tools
  • Able to operate heavy equipment

Physical Requirements / Other:

  • Must be able to drive a car, van, truck, forklift, bob-cat, and scissor lift and travel via plane or train; lift up to 50 pounds
  • Environment will consist of office, indoor grow production, warehouse or distribution environment, as well as out-door elements on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit; use hands or finger to, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear
  • Must have close vision, distant vision, ability to adjust focus, peripheral and color vision
