Leafly is currently seeking a Data (Warehouse) Engineer to join our Data Engineering Team and help us continue to build a scalable data platform for analytics and data science applications.
You will work in our engineering department at our headquarters in Seattle, WA or our office in Baltimore, MD.
For the right candidate, other remote locations will also be considered!

What We Are Looking For In This Role
You are excited at the prospect of leveraging technology to solve complex data problemsBuild data applications and microservices on AWSDesign, develop, and maintain a world class data warehouse and analytics architecture to meet business analysis, reporting needs, and data science initiatives
Work directly with marketing, sales, business analysts and data scientists to assist in data extraction and analysis projects
Participate in the development and maintenance of ETL jobs and data pipelines to populate the data warehouse from production databases, cloud platforms and various external data sources
Design and develop data marts for consumption by analytics tools and end users
Develop code standards, guidelines, and automated test suites to manage and ensure highest data quality and integrity
Optimize and scale data warehouse and data processing infrastructure
Evaluate new technologies and constantly work towards continuous improvements in data engineering, our platform, and the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ year of professional experience in a relevant field (Data Engineer, Data Warehouse Engineer, Software Engineer, etc.)
Experience with Python or similar programming languages;
Feel at home with SQL
Experience writing code leveraging ETL tools such as Airflow, Luigi, Stitch, Pinball, etc.
Experience working with AWS or similar cloud computing platforms
Experience with data warehouses platforms such as Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, Panoply, etc.
Experience with Postgres or similar RDBMS; NoSQL experience also encouraged
Experience with Elasticsearch or similar search and analytics engines
Experience with data pipelines and streaming frameworks such as Spark, Storm, Kafka
Experience with business analytics tools such as Tableau, Looker, Metabase, etc.
You’re familiar with deploying applications using Docker and Kubernetes, or similar technologies
You’re interested in data science and how it can be leveraged to gain deeper data insights
Ability to embrace, learn, and apply new technologies and tools
Familiarity working in smaller teams with a drive to ship quickly
Understanding knowledge of agile software development practices
Ability to communicate well with both technical and non-technical teams
