Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe in Sequim seeks Cannabis Retail Operations Manager
The Retail Operations Manager oversees the enterprise, assets, inventory, and staff of the Jamestown S’Klallam Cannabis Store in accordance with State and local regulations set by Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe.
The Retail Operations Manager collaborates with the EDA Executive Director for strategic planning development of policy, marketing, and business.
The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for the overall profitability of the facility, and will provide operational management oversight, technical, marketing and sales support to the enterprise.
Essential Functions
Develop office policies and operating procedures
Accountability and management of cash handling procedure
Interpret budgets, income statements and other financial reports
Provide planning, procurement and implementation of office equipment
Monitor office supply budgets and procurement
Maintain client and corporate confidentiality standards
Oversee office services and vendors
Manage storage areas, track supplies and make purchase recommendations
Maintain office records and outline records management procedures
Ensure computer file and record security and hazard protection
Supervise Office Staff, assign and oversee tasking
Evaluate Staff performance
Assign and monitor administrative/clerical functions
Oversee organization safety training
Develop staff, provide constructive feedback to help employees meet expectations and goals
Lead, motivate, inspire, and coach employees to create a premier client experience
Grow and retain clients, foster strong relationships, and develop brand awareness and loyalty
Deliver exceptional and consistent customer service
Recruit, hire, and train all store employees in coordination with Human Resources policies and procedures
Attend and participate in manager meetings and engage in ongoing education and professional development
Participate in networking, community service and educational events and to foster positive relationships within the community
Manage State, Tribal, and Local Government Auditors and Law Enforcement with inventory, sales and compliance audits
Responsible for facility maintenance and troubleshooting as necessary including proper upkeep of operations including phone, utilities, technology, maintenance, repairs, stock, and supplies
Ensure inventory management compliance and consistency
Responsible and accountable for store P&L and controllable expenses
Maintain a clean and safe environment for all employees and customers
Schedule and adequately staff the facility
Demonstrate initiative, work independently with little supervision
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Must be 21 or over
Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Four (4) years of retail management experience required, two (2) years of experience in the cannabis industry preferred
Knowledge and understanding of the cannabis industry, including familiarity of various strains, genetics, THC and CBD content, and fluency in cannabis terminology
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suites, retail POS systems, and social media outlets
Exceptional interpersonal skills including effective verbal and written communication
Demonstrates ability to manage a team, including empowering, coaching, and influencing others to achieve a common goal
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to travel locally and regionally
Must be able to successfully pass criminal background investigation
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal Laws and Regulations pertaining to Medical and/or Retail Cannabis
Knowledge of cannabis specific sales and tracking systems
Knowledge of office administrative operations, including personnel management, and compliance
Understanding of small business networks, device sharing and configuration
Excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Effective time management, decision-making, and problem solving skills
American Indian/Alaska Native preferences apply
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Must be available to work any shift (to include all hours, weekends, and/or holidays as job duties require)
Must be able to lift, push and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted
Physical ability to access all areas of the property applicable to your position
Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, sitting, walking, bending, climbing, squatting and twisting without restriction
Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity; ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols
Must have the ability to reach at or below/above shoulder level on a continuous basis
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment and maintain physical stamina, proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with customers, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines
